Thurs. 20 June. Box GIG has invited us to join them on a coach trip to the Beaulieu Motor Museum where they will have a guided tour. This will be a long day out leaving Box from Chapel Lane at 8.45am and returning between 6 and 6.30pm. If you are interested contact the LINK number and we will arrange transport to the coach if required. The coach will not have disabled access and anyone going will need to be able to look after themselves. This is not a LINK outing.

Wed. 3 July. Our major outing of the summer with a trip to the Cotswold Farm Park. This is the rare breeds farm occasionally featured on the BBC’s “Countryfile” with Adam Henson, one of the owners of the farm. This outing will be by coach with a lift for disabled access. The coach is no longer able to manoeuvre into the Selwyn Hall car park, the coach company has asked that we take any clients needing the lift into the coach to Colerne where it will park in front of the school. If anyone needs to park in the Selwyn Hall car park but would find it a struggle to get up the hill, we will arrange a shuttle service to the pick up point in Box which will be Chapel Lane. Pick up times will be 9.15am in Colerne and 9.30 am in Box and Rudloe. A full day arriving back at around 4—4.30pm. There is a café but you may wish to take a picnic. Not all the site is accessible to wheelchairs but there is a tractor and trailer tour around the farm. If there is space on the coach we may be able to accommodate friends and family and we would ask for a contribution of £10 per person.

Thurs 18 July. A return visit to The Somerset Lavender Farm which we visited in 2014. You will be able to see and smell the lavender fields in full flower as well as learning about the processes of turning the flowers into the delicious and unusual products for sale in the shop.Lavender fields There is a café where we can sample various flavours of tea and delicious cakes. The site is wheelchair accessible though some parts may give a bumpy ride. Pick up times will be 1.15pm in Colerne and 1.30pm in Box and Rudloe.

TUES. 23 July. A return to The Pound in Corsham to see “Can you ever forgive me”. The film is based on a true story about a failed author, Lee Israel, who makes her living by writing and selling elaborate fake letters from celebrities like Noel Coward. Her drinking companion is Richard E Grant who gives a performance that saw him nominated for an Oscar. Pick up times will be 9.45am in Colerne and 10.00am in Box and Rudloe.

Phew, a busy couple of months ahead! If you wish to book any of these outings, call the usual number 07970 617617
